Red Lip Winged Liner Holiday Makeup Express Tutorial

red lip winged liner

Woohoo! I love having fun with makeup especially when it involves a bit more colour! Plus I love editing videos in my spare time so this was fun.. I wanted to try my own makeup video forever! So that’s now checked off the list haha :D Just finished this quick little express tutorial holiday look featuring a classic red lip and winged liner. Perfect for Christmas, New Years Eve, Valentines Day, or anytime really :p It’s simple but fun :) on a nice dewy natural skin base.
Scroll down for the video.

What I’m wearing:
Santa hat: Bargain shop ~$1
Polkadot top: Dotti

More info on the Beauty Products in the video:

Serum: Kiehl’s – Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution (I think it’s slowly working on all that sun damage from past ski trips)

Moisturiser: Neutrogena Hydro Boost (so very nourishing!)

Eye cream: Kiehl’s – Creamy Eye Treatment with avocado (LOVE!)

Lip balm: Palmers – Cocoa Butter Formula – Dark Chocolate & Cherry (yum!)

Eyelash curlers: Manicare (i think? I don’t use them often so I forget where they’re from haha)

Foundation: L’oreal – Infallible 130 (LOVE IT! Works so well with my
Neutrogena Moisturiser as a primer as they have similar nourishing ingredients which makes this stay on longer and stay fresh looking)

Real Techniques – Expert Face Brush (nice to use instead of getting makeup all over my hands)

Concealers: Maybelline – Instant Age Rewind (perfect for under the eyes)
Rimmel – Wake Me Up (random spot cover)
Maybelline – Fit me 15 Fair (very light for highlights)

Brow Gel: Maybelline – Brow Drama – Dark Brown (quick and easy brow touch up)

Eye shadow: Maybelline – Colour Tattoo Metal – 55 Inked In Pink (pretty and so simple to use)

Translucent Powder: Physicians Formula – Mineral Correcting Powder (So very silky soft, sets foundation and concealer well)

Real Techniques – Powder Brush (so soft and fluffy.. PERFECT)

Bronzing Powder: Maybelline – Dream Sun (don’t like the smell.. it hasn’t gone off.. its newish.. that’s just how it smells haha The “old smell” goes away after you apply it though)

Powder Blush: MAC – Springsheen (my favourite.. comparable to Nars Laguna)

Real Techniques – Blush Brush (super soft and perfectly shaped)

Highlighter: MAC – Mineralize Skinfinish – Soft and Gentle (amazing glow!!)

Eye liner: Maybelline – Master Precise liquid liner (so easy to use)

Mascara: Dior – Diorshow Iconic Overcurl (i love the shape of the brush!! This was a’ gift with purchase’ item)

Lip brush: It might have been from The Body Shop years and years ago but I really don’t remember..

Lipstick: MAC – Ruby Woo matt finish (super long lasting but drying so moisturise moisturise moisturise!)

I get everything at a discount, especially the drugstore brand items, I usually wait till there’s about 50% off at Priceline or Chemist Warehouse or Terry White Chemist and do a little makeup haul so I don’t have to spend twice as much in the future. Makeup budgeting :p

Here is the video:

Camera: Sony Cybershot HD (just a basic compact I’ve had for years)
Video Editor: iMovie (came with my MacBook Pro)
Music: Free from iMovie music library & YouTube music library

Ruby Woo is my holiday lipstick in this video but I also wear Lady Danger around the holidays too. That one isn’t as food/transfer friendly though haha
What’s your “go-to red lipstick” for the holidays? Let me know in the comments..
